| GCCF Registration Price Increases |
I have been speaking to the GCCF office today and they told me that as from January 2010, prices for kitten registrations will be increased.
The actual cost has yet to be confirmed but they are asking that people check the web site or phone the office in the New Year before sending in registrations to save confusion and work and the returning of forms which will inevitably delay the registration process! I was also told that the price of registrations will almost certainly rise on an annual basis ( in January) in the future so please be warned!!
They also told me to tell other breeders to get their registrations in as soon as possible if they want to save a little money. Brilliant eh!!!
What with an extra £5.00 per litter this is another outlay for breeders. I would happily have paid an annual fee for keeping our prefix activated rather than this 'per litter' charge!! Ok for those who only have one or two litters a year but for those who breed more than three litters, that annual £15.00 fee which was being discussed was very attractive!!
I think that the more litters you register, the less you should have to pay personally!!

Unfortunately, with a financial crisis already here, the GCCF might find many will register with another governing body

I'm wondering if I move to TICA could I show my raggies in UK Clubs???
In my opinion TICA is more professional and gives breeders more ways to develop not only in England but internationally.
I have some breeders friends in Poland that are with TICA I never heard any complaints. |

The GCCF did not put their prices up for over many years and they cannot allow this to happen again as they fell way behind. I do know this to be true and the registration fee was £6.00 per kitten for a breeder with a GCCF prefix for as long as I could remember! The people who will be hit are the breeders without a prefix as they pay £12.00 per kitten at the moment!
I personally wouldn't touch TICA with a barge pole!! I have found that the SOP and what you see on the show bench and the cats which appear to do well are no where near as good as the ones shown under the GCCF.
I am not keen on the 'ring' stystem of judging, people wandering around the show hall with cats under their arms and much prefer the, more formal, GCCF shows.
Unfortunately Roxanne, unless your cat is registered with the GCCF, you are not able to show them at shows held under the GCCF rules in the UK. As most clubs are affiliated to the GCCF and hold their shows under their umberella, you would find that you may be very restricted.
You can show a cat registered with the GCCF at TICA & FIFE shows as long as you make the GCCF aware that you are doing so ( because of the 13 days rule).

So I guess I'll stay with GCCF.
