Just to remind everyone that the UKRBS seminar will take place next Sunday (16th August) and that there are just a few places left if anyone would like to attend. The flyer can be downloaded from our website http://www.ukrbs.co.uk/sitefiles/ukrbs/139248/Seminar%20Flyer.pdf
I also wanted to let everyone know that one of the Professor's from Langford will be attending the afternoon session to give a talk on HCM and DNA testing and answer any questions that you may like to ask.
For those of you who are attending, the tickets have gone out in the post this evening and should be with you in the next couple of days.
I look forward to seeing everyone on the day,
Zoe

We have had confirmation today that it will be Professor Tim Gruffydd-Jones from Langford attending our seminar to talk to us about HCM and answer any questions that anyone may have.

Hope it is a great success. I would loved to have came down although no interest in breeding it would have been interesting.
I have a wee judging appointment myself so cant make it. Maybe a future one |

Hi all,
I've just walked in through the door and had to come on the forum to say what a great day I had.
Apart from the chairman and committee members that put so much work in organising it ( BTW I don't mean me - I just turned up on the day!) thankyou also to Chris, Allen, Helen and Nikky. I have waited a long time to see Chris's ping pong balls and it was worth it, believe me.
Thankyou Gail and Liz (+ husband) who very kindly ferried me from hotel - seminar and from seminar - airport.
As Gill said it was great to meet so many people from the forum and put faces to names. I'm looking forward to meeting up again with as many of you as possible at the garden party on 5th Sept. |

Hi
I would like to say the same as Zoe, Gill, Heather etc above. I know how much time and effort goes into arranging events like the seminar. Thankyou all for giving up your own time for us.
Chris, it was so nice to meet you at last after hearing so much about you over the years (all nice of course)
You all have done such a fantastic job to bring the new club together like this so quickly.
Thankyou
Carol |

Hi everyone
I, personally, would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE who attended yesterdays Seminar. The turn out was amazing with lots of new faces and quite a few familiar ones too. I hope those of you who had heard about us but we had never met can now put faces to those names! I think it makes getting in touch, by phone or just by email so much easier!!!
The whole day went without a hitch and I hope that everyone who came went home with a little 'something', perhaps a fact that they did not realise before, or just reassurance and answers to questions that had been bothering or confusing them. Older established breeders almost always enjoy meeting up at these events too. Even if they are not part of the organisation of the day, their imput and experience is always welcome!!
We wanted it to be friendly, relaxed and enjoyable. I can tell this was achieved. We had FUN, smiled a lot and shared knowledge and that is what it is all about. Long standing friendships can be forged at these meetings and you will be surprised to sometimes discover that you live fairly close to someone who is at exactly the same stage of their breeding as you are.... amazing!!!
To have members arrive from ALL over the UK was fabulous. From Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the West Country from all over the Home Counties and the Midlands was a major achievement for such a new club. THANKYOU ALL for making those journeys.
Thank you also to Professor Tim Gruffydd-Jones from Langford for coming along and giving an excellent and informative talk on HCM. He clarified a lot of things for us. I think that he went away with things to think about too having discovered that we have Homozygous cats still alive and well at 7 and 11 years old, showing no sign of heart disease etc.!! Lets hope information such as this will be of help in future studies into the disease.
Finally many congratulations to Zoe, Matt, Gail and the rest of the Committee for working so hard to make the day the success it was. Allen and I know just how hard it is on the days and weeks leading up to an event such as this to ensure it is a success. There were special little personal touches that always shows the thought that goes into the day. Well done!
We also mustn't forget those unsung heroes, Kerrie's Mum and Liz's husband, Heather's daughter Lucy... beavering away in the background. You were brilliant!
Allen and are so PROUD of the UKRBS and thrilled to have the chance to continue to have input into the Ragdoll breed to help new breeders and share knowledge and experience.
We will always be happy to assist and help in every way that we can to ensure that The United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society goes forward to be an informative, supportive and friendly Ragdoll Club. We want to ensure that our members are well looked after, informed immediately of issues that effect the breed and their breeding practices. To be open and honest and to CARE.
In three years time the club WILL be come a constituent member of the Ragdoll BAC and have positive input to the breed, as a whole, within the GCCF. The seminar yesterday proved without a shadow of a doubt that the club has a brilliant future ahead of it.
All are welcome to the Garden Party we are holding on the 5th September so if you attended yesterday and want some more........ come along!!!

It was a brilliant day, so well done to everyone. I really enjoyed myself, and i think a lot of others did too. I also thought the little things like bottles of water and goodie bags was a lovely personal touch, and the small things like this really made a difference.
Cant wait for he next one now!!
